I finished my education in banking and insurance and a few months later I attended a bar course organized by the directors of the Bulgarian Bartenders Organization.
One year after I started bartending I won the national flair competition sponsored by Finlandia vodka. I worked in few of the top bars, won a few competitions in Bulgaria and then moved to London in 2003 and worked with Douglas Ankrah at Isis, Town House and Lab.
I got introduced to rum at Floridita Bar, London, a bar all about rum, rum cocktails, history and beautiful Cuban music.
I joined Mahiki in 2007 and been introduced properly to Tiki that suited my happy personality perfectly and become a way of living for me. I finally became bar manager and succeeded in keeping Mahiki as one of the top cocktail bars and nightclubs for 10 years.
I won the best Tiki bartender in 2011 and represented the UK Tiki team to compete against the USA team in Miami for the Miami Rum festival, where we won World Tiki Champions 2012.
Played bartender in the Hollywood movie “Identity Thief” and was awarded title of bartender of the year 2015 at the London club and bar awards. I did cocktail menu and consultancy for many London bars.
I created the signature cocktails for brands such as Ciroc, Staritsky Levitsky, Zeo, Green Island, Chairman’s Reserve, Mount Gay, Plantation, Bacardi ,Re'al.
I also organized parties for Diageo and for Diageo World Class finals.
I do rum trainings, judging cocktail competitions or judging spirits in blind tasting.
I am the creator of the first UK Tiki festival called Spirit of Tiki. This event represents the Spirit of Tiki and showcases how different spirits work in simple Tiki Cocktails.
I often do Tiki Presentations and talk about history of Tiki and Modern Tiki, where is Tiki heading and what is the future.
When I create a cocktail I create a story, starting with the name, the story behind it, the ingredients, the glass, the garnish, the taste and finish with the way you serve it.
