Mindfulness Supports Well-being & Resilience

Mindfulness is one of the best methods to change habits and strengthen resilience, well-being, and performance. Clarity and openness of mind allow us to perceive the world differently. We often cannot change the outside world, but we can control how we relate & react to it. In this seminar, Theo will share a personal learning journey with you.

Stress is natural. All organisms face stressors and stress. Stress is not the problem itself but rather the lack of balance that is the issue. Resilience is not about endurance – this misunderstanding comes from the word and its origin in material science. Resilience is about learning to regulate stress, balancing stress with recovery, coming back to resting states. Resilience is deeply bio-physiological. We are social, emotional and biological beings – something we tend to forget in our over cognitive world. Thus important physiological progresses play a crucial role in resilience - not just mindset or behavior. Resilience covers the spectrum from stress to well-being to flourishing. It is a broad term which describes a healthy system. Resilience is trainable, including training ourselves to avoid getting into chronic stress.
