Giannis Petros Petris
Giannis Petros Petris was born in Athens in 1981, and he is a second generation bartender. He started working in bars back in 1999, and inspired by limes and cranberry juice in early stages. He decided to study in Nicolas St. Jean school and later with the legendary English bartender Βen Reed. His life changed completely when he decided to create Pere Ubu, one of the first “neo cocktail bars” in the city and his dream came true. Next stop is Tokyo in 2009 in the Japanese cocktail school of Takayuki Suzuki, since he wanted to change the way he saw things behind the bar. New ideas, new ways of serving, open mind. Seminars in Berlin, Paris, New Orleans but also international competitions in Cuba and Finland. For 5 years he is bartender consultant and cocktails stylist in Vima-Μen, Vima-Gourmet (well known magazines in Greece), while many of his publications can be found in magazines and cocktail books abroad. Moreover Giannis is also bar consultant for Opso Restaurant in UK (www.opso.co.uk) and for the 2 stars Michelin awarded Funky Gourmet restaurant in Athens (www.funkygourmet.com). This period you will find him in his new owned bar called Tiki Athens in the Acropolis area of Athens.
