Melesin Distillery has been established in Leskovik, Albania at an impressive elevation of 900 meters above sea level, nestled amid the Epir mountains. The vineyards of Leskovik owe their exceptional quality to the mineral-rich terrain, with the unique soil being a fusion of limestone rock from Melesin Mountain and a clay component accumulated over time. The exceptional terrain and pronounced temperature variation, hot days followed by cool nights, create ideal conditions for growing the finest grapes in Albania, which we craft into premium Raki and Wine. The Melesin Distillery is fully equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, supplied by one of Europe’s premier companies. Meanwhile, the artisanal distillation facility is a handcrafted masterpiece made of copper, custom-built for Melesin by one of the leading companies from Siena, Italy. The introduction of Gin into the Albanian market was a groundbreaking venture, with production adhering to artisanal London Dry methods, predominantly Albanian aromatic plants, and, unquestionably, black juniper berries sourced from various regions of Albania recognised for their exceptional quality. In our very first year of participation, both of our Gins were awarded Gold and Silver medals at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the most prestigious beverage competition in the world.
