Altamura Distilleries was founded to express the flavors and terror of Altamuran Wheat. Alamura is home to the only bread in the world protected by a PDO. We use the exact same wheat use in the baking of this bread, which traces it's history back over 2000 years, in the distilling of our spirits The hard durum wheat of Altamura imparts very different taste and mouthfeel than the typical soft wheat used in the product of most spirits.
