Roberto Artusio & Christian Bugiada
The collaboration project between Roberto Artusio and Cristian Bugiada was born as a result
of a long experience and constant research lived in Mexico.
From this land in 2014 began a
journey to discover the Agave and its distillates, a journey in continuous evolution that has
allowed them to expand and make their baggage more and more complete. The history, art,
traditions and customs of this country have been the driving force to delve into the heart of
the Agave tradition, both from a biological point of view and from a cultural and productive
point of view.
The sharing of experiences with local farmers and producers, with the creators
and distributors of the brands, with the institutional bodies that guarantee the quality of the
product and with researchers who preserve the sustainability of the production cycle has
resulted in a 360 degrees vision of the Agave.
Motivated by a strong passion they started to take the first steps towards their big dream: to
bring and spread in Europe the love and culture of Mezcal in the world of bartending. Both
considered among the major exponents in the world of Italian cocteleria, they managed to
turn the spotlight on a distillate until then kept in the background in the Italian market.
Through mastercalss, meetings and seminars held during industry events on national and
international territory, they have told their travels, their experience and their knowledge
about Mezcal. Using their experience as bartenders they not only kept the focus on tasting
smooth distillate but also on its multiple uses in cocktails. In recognition of their commitment
and research CRM proclaimed them Mezcal Ambassadors on April 29, 2018.......
However, the focus of the course was not only the world of beverages. Fascinated by the
smells, colors and flavors of the Mexican culinary tradition, Cristian and Roberto also
approached what has become the parallel rib of their research: the art of cooking. The fusion
of their studies on Mexican food and drink has allowed them to structure and evolve the
concept of foodparing.
The need to have a little bit of Mexico also in Italy, specifically in Rome, brought to light in
2016 the project "La Punta Expendio de Agave", a small temple for connoisseurs where you
can taste traditional Mexican dishes, drink cocktails and enjoy a
ever-evolving wine rack that now counts over 500 labels.
