Andy Ferreira

Accomplished mixologist Andy Ferreira was brought on board to develop Cask in December 2016.

Andy was crowned overall winner at the World Class Irish Bartender of the Year Awards 2017 and went on to compete at the World Class Global Finals in Mexico City in August 2017. Andy also won Best Bartender at the 2017 Irish Craft Cocktail Awards. Andy previously represented Ireland at the prestigious Cocktail World Cup in New Zealand. Andy puts a lot of his love for food and drink down to his parents who emigrated from South Africa in the 70s. With minimal prior experience they opened two very successful restaurants in Kinsale, Co. Cork where his Dad was the chef and his Mother was front of house. They settled in East Cork and Andy has distinct memories of pressing apples for cider, picking elderberries for wine and making homemade sausages. It was a very nature-led sustainable upbringing long before that was a buzzword.

Cask, MacCurtain Street, Cork.

Cask opened in February 2017 on MacCurtain Street in Cork city in a stunning building in the Victorian Quarter, with a huge emphasis on restoring and embracing the many nooks and crannies and respecting as many of the original features of the original building as possible. Cask is a sister venue of neighboring Hotel Isaacs Cork and Greenes Restaurant.

Led by managing partner Andy Ferreira, Cask has been wowing the public and hospitality industry alike with its seasonal, nature-led drinks menus. The bar team has always attracted a high caliber of bartender and is the only bar to have represented Ireland three years in a row at the prestigious Diageo World Class Cocktail Competition, with then head bartender Linda O'Flynn following in the footsteps of Carl d'Alton and Andy Ferreira in being named World Class Irish Bartender of the Year.
