A native New Yorker, Alia Akkam is a Budapest-based writer covering bars, design, travel and food. The author of the Behind the Bar book series, spanning hotel bars, gin and tequila, she is also one of the academy chairs for The 50 Best Bars and a writing and media co-chair for the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards.
